Centers and the Evangelical Covenant Church
The C. John Weborg Center for Spiritual Direction
The C. John Weborg Center for Spiritual Direction began with the vision of the Evangelical Covenant Church and funding from the Lilly Endowment's Sustaining Pastoral Excellence Grant. The center offers a Certificate in Spiritual Direction and engages in ongoing research and development in the ministry of spiritual direction, intended to benefit a wide audience. Covenant pastors whose Certificate program is funded by the grant agree to provide spiritual direction free of charge for one year to colleagues in ministry. The Center is also developing an Association of Spiritual Directors to create a denomination-wide supportive network.
Center for World Christian Studies
The Center for World Christian Studies (CWCS) is a cooperative venture between North Park Theological Seminary (NPTS) and the Department of World Mission of the Evangelical Covenant Church. The Center for World Christian Studies exists to engage students, missionaries, national church leaders, pastors and congregations together in intercultural biblical reflection that promotes participation in God's Mission among people everywhere. The Seminary Certificate in Intercultural Studies and CWCS trips are two primary ways that these goals are achieved.
Center for Youth Ministry Studies
The Center for Youth Ministry Studies is a joint center that serves North Park University as well as North Park Theological Seminary. It offers a major at the University, conferences, a job board and a wealth of resources for those preparing for and currently working with youth in a variety of ministry settings. The Center for Youth Ministry Studies works with the Covenant Department of Christian Formation to synchronize its efforts.
