Interest Inventories

Choosing a major and a career can feel overwhelming. We want to help you make an informed decision by providing you access to interest and personality inventories. These inventories can help you explore the path that is right for you by identifying specific college courses, jobs or internships, and extracurricular activities that will allow you to express your unique interests and personality style.

The inventories offered by the Career Development and Internships Office are the Strong Interest Inventory and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.

Strong Interest Inventory

The Strong Interest Inventory® assessment is the most widely used instrument for career development. With the highly reliable Strong Interest Inventory® assessment, you can help students discover their interests, preferences, and personal styles—exactly the information they need to select classes or choose a career they can be passionate about.

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) assessment is the most widely used personality assessment in the world. With a proven record of reliability spanning more than 50 years, it offers a foundation for understanding individual differences and applying that understanding to the ways people think, communicate, and interact. Versatile and dependable, the MBTI tool sets the stage for lifelong learning and development.

The MBTI assessment is used to develop individuals, teams, and organizations to meet today’s challenges in such areas as communication, team building, leadership, and career management. Individuals and organizations, including many Fortune 500 companies, use more than 2 million assessments worldwide each year.

Students interested in taking either of these inventories are encouraged to contact us to schedule an appointment with a staff member.
