The completion of the state-of-the-art Paul W.
and Bernice P. Brandel Library was simply the beginning in the
University’s
major plan to improve its historic campus in recent years, and what
a beginning it was! Dedicated in 2001, Brandel Library combines form
and function beautifully. A
stately three-story tower overlooks a landscape ellipse and a set of
cascading stairs leading to tree-lined walkways. Inside, attractive
study spaces, meeting areas, and group-study rooms create an atmosphere
that is at once inviting and conducive to concentration. The
library itself holds half a million items, including books, periodicals, government
publications, and more—and the library’s online resources can link
you to millions more materials in collections around the world.
