Anne Marie Andreasson-Hogg

Professor of Swedish

Professor Anne-Marie Andreasson-Hogg brings a unique multilingual and multicultural perspective to North Park. She grew up in France with Scandinavian parents and is a native speaker of both Swedish and French. She is committed to helping students gain cultural literacy and language fluency. As she notes, even students who have never spoken a word of Swedish can quickly gain a surprising level of proficiency.

Andreasson-Hogg enjoys teaching in a close-knit community where she can interact with students and faculty from many disciplines and many backgrounds. “I am very happy to teach at a Christian university where we can integrate faith and learning in the classroom and beyond,” she says.

Andreasson-Hogg is also involved in Swedish cultural events on campus, such as the annual Sankta Lucia Festival in December, as well as the activities of Scandinavian organizations in the Chicago area.
