Remember that the following is only a short list of different reference books available. In order to discover if other sources on your topic exist, browse the first floor reference section between the call letters BL and BR, or do a catalog search. (Suggestion: type in the book of the bible you are researching, and then add "commentary" to your search or search for "bible" and another key phrase such as "dictionary" or "mercy.")

ATLA Religion Database covers Biblical studies, world religions, church history, and religious perspectives on social issues. It contains abstracts and some full-text articles. Remember to click the "scriptures" tab in the green toolbars if you are interested in investigating particular scripture verses.
