Tip 1Any Word Anywhere means it finds any of the words you are searching anywhere they appear in the bibliographic record. Use + to make sure the word appears; use ? to truncate (teach? will find teacher, teachers, teaching); use
to search for a phrase, such as “Wall Street.”

Tip 2 – If you know the exact title or author’s name, search by “Start of Title” or “Browse Author.”

Tip 3 – Open the Quick Limit box to limit your search to Videos or last 5 years or music scores, etc.

Tip 4 – Use the Guided Keyword Search if you want more search options; for a word or phrase in the subject field and a word in the author field, for example.

Tip 5 – Change the Sort by option to see most recent books first.

Tip 6 We don’t own the book? Search other libraries (ILCSO Libraries) to find material.  Click on Request at top of screen. Choose North Park as your home library and log in with your North Park ID barcode number (your ID number preceded by 27012 . . .). You can check “My Account” to see what you have checked out and to renew.

Tip 7 – As a librarian at the reference desk or call the desk at x5247. We will be glad to help.   You can also find help on the catalog’s help screens.
