Mental Measurements Yearbook
Contains reviews of psychological tests. Not all tests are reviewed in every edition. Most entries are followed by a very brief bibliography. |

Tests in Print
Serves as an index to the Mental Measurements Yearbook and provides a small amount of information about the test.
This book is in alphabetical order. Look up the name of your test. Under "cross references" in your tests entry, you will see pairs of numbers such as 12:248. The first number (12) refers to an edition of MMY, and the second (248) refers to the order of the test in that edition. |

Test Reviews Online
Like Tests in Print, this source will tell you which volume of Mental Measurements to use. Unlike Tests in Print, it only lists the most recent MMY citation. |

Searching the Online Catalog
Books and films can be found using the online catalog. Click here for help.
If NPU does not own a book, or if the item you want is checked out of the library, you can order it through interlibrary loan. Items requested from our group of 71 Illinois academic libraries will arrive in a couple of days.
The Brandel Library is organized by the Library of Congress call number system. Books on psychology are in the BF section on the 3rd floor. Psychiatry books are in the RC section on the 2nd floor. Many of the psychobiology books are in the QP section on the 2nd floor.
Note: When you are looking up your library record or ordering something via interlibrary loan, you will be asked for your barcode i.d. This is the long number in very small print close to the barcode on your i.d. Your student i.d. will not work.
PsycInfo
To access an alphabetical list of databases, go to the library website and chose Databases/Articles on the left. Most databases are available off-campus.
PsycInfo indexes articles about psychology and related subjects. It contains some full-text articles; mostly citations and abstracts.
Limiting your search:
- Do not begin your search by limiting to full-text only.
- PsycInfo contains articles and other content. Under "Publication Type," limit your search to "peer reviewed journals."
- Review the "methodology" options to customize your search.
If you see the "find full text" box, it does not mean that the article is full-text in that database. Click on the box to find out if the NPU or other Illinois libraries own the journal, or if it is full-text in another database. It will also allow you to click on interlibrary loan. Just fill in your information and we will contact you when your article arrives.
