Finding Database Articles:
History and Philosophy Databases
- Jstor is a full-text archive of scholarly essays in a range of subjects. The archives will span every issue of a journal ever publised except the most current 5 years (or so.) This is a great databse to use to track changes in the way that scholars have viewed many topics.
- Project Muse is a full-text database that covers the most recent 5-10 years of several journals in the humanities.
- Sage Premier is a full-text database which has some philosophical articles in it, and may be worth your time to search.
- ATLA covers theological topics, including secularization. This could be a good place to get a religious viewpoint on your topic as well.
General Databases you can also search:
- Academic Search Premier also has a wide range of scholarly and popular sources, all of which are worth a look.
- If you pick a philosopher who is also studied in another discipline (such as Darwin) try the databases in that subject area as well.
