Special Lecture on International Ethics and Rule of Law to Take Place October 3
CHICAGO, IL (September 26, 2007) - On Wednesday, October 3, 2007, a special lecture will take place at 7 p.m. in Anderson Chapel on the campus of North Park University. The Honorable Latchezar Popov, President and CEO of Advocates Europe, will speak on International Ethics and Rule of Law.
Mr. Popov is a 1978 graduate of Sophia State University Faculty of Law with a Masters of Law degree. He served as legal advisor for several state enterprises from 1978 to 1990. In 1993, he became counsel for Advocates International, a Christian human rights advocacy group, and helped launch the Rule of Law Institute in 1995. In 1996, Mr. Popov received the Pro Fide Award from the Friends of the Martyrs Church of Finland for his humanitarian work. He continues to work toward human rights, religious liberty, conflict resolution, and professional ethics.
Sponsorship of the lecture is shared by the School of Business and Nonprofit Management, the Department of Biblical and Theological Studies, the Department of Politics and Government, and the Department of History. Light refreshments will be served following the lecture.
