Paul W. Brandel Professor of New Testament Studies

Klyne Snodgrass has been a member of the Seminary faculty since 1974. He taught at Georgetown College in Kentucky from 1973-74. He received his bachelor of arts from Columbia Bible College and his master of divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. His doctorate is from the University of St. Andrews (Scotland), and his dissertation was "The Christological Stone Testimonia in the New Testament." He has been a visiting scholar at Tyndale House, Cambridge, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, the University of Tübingen, Princeton Theological Seminary, and Duke University Divinity School. Snodgrass is ordained by the Southern Baptist Convention. He serves as coordinator of the North Park Symposium on the Theological Interpretation of Scripture, an annual conference that brings scholars and church leaders together to explore and discuss issues of relevance to the church. Snodgrass edits the symposium papers that are published in Ex Auditu, an international journal of theological interpretation of Scripture. He served as dean of faculty at North Park Theological Seminary from 1988 to 1993. He is author of Between Two Truths: Living with Biblical Tensions (Zondervan, 1990) and A Biblical and Theological Basis for Women in Ministry (Covenant Publications, 1987). He has also published Ephesians: NIV Application Commentary (Zondervan, 1996) and serves as consulting editor for that series. In January of 2008, Stories with Intent: A Comprehensive Guide to the Parables of Jesus. (Grand Rapids: Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing Co., 2008) will be published. He returns to his native Tennessee whenever possible for horseback riding and relaxation.
