1. Personal Attention: With a low teacher-student
ratio, you will have the opportunity to engage in dialogue with your
professors and classmates and to develop relationships that will last
a lifetime. 2. Biblical Focus: We take the
Bible seriously. It will be the focus of your studies and will give
you a grounding that will serve you well wherever your ministry takes
you. 3. Practical Ministry Emphasis: You
will receive excellent training in hands-on ministry. Whether you
are interested in becoming a pastor, youth minister, Christian educator,
or missionary, the Seminary will give you a practical, hands-on education.
4. Academically Capable while Pastorally Sensitive:
North Park's well-known faculty bring a wealth of knowledge and experience
to the classroom. You will benefit from interacting with scholars
who have experience in pastoring. 5. Evangelical
and Open: North Park is a seminary that is warmly evangelical
and open to theological exploration. You will find room to grow in
an environment of openness committed to historic Christian faith.
6. Spiritual Formation Emphasis: The Seminary
is committed to your spiritual growth. A spiritual formation emphasis
is integrated into the whole curriculum. You will personally benefit
from an environment where your relationship to God is of utmost importance,
so that your ministry will draw on both theological insight and spiritual
maturity. 7. Field Education Opportunities:
In preparation for pastoral ministry, you will graduate with ministry
experience after participating in the equivalent of a full-year internship.
8. Chicago: a center for theological education:
With 10 seminaries at your doorstep, you can cross-register for courses,
use a wide range of theological libraries, and attend seminars led
by world-class scholars and religious leaders. The Seminary is a member
of the Seminary Consortium for Urban Pastoral Education (SCUPE), offering
you the opportunity of urban ministry studies. Chicago also offers
you and your spouse excellent work and ministry experience "where
the people are." 9. Communal Life Support System:
Because of the personal nature of the Seminary, you will
develop friendships and working relationships that will support you
after graduation. We also have an active "Partners in Ministry"
program for spouses. 10. Sharing a Campus with a
University: The Seminary is enriched because we share a campus
with North Park University. You will have the opportunity to participate
in dual degrees, cultural and sports programs, work-study, and the
College's acclaimed Urban Outreach program. |
