Join us to hear a panel of special guests share their experience and journey of faith and discovery as those who have gone through seminary, graduated and found Life After Seminary. Come hear the insights of Pastor Adam Phillips of Resurrection Covenant, Pastor Amanda Olson of Grace Covenant, Lisa Orris, Dept. of Church Growth and Evangelism, Deborah Penny, NPTS Asst. Director of Field Education and Pastor D. Darrell Griffin of Oakdale Covenant Church.

Voter Information, Education and Registration. Join us for The Board of Elections Commissioners will be here to inform us about voter rights, demonstrate the new voting machines and offer voter registration for the November 2008 election to those 18 and over. Questions will be answered for those interested in learning how to vote using out of state absentee ballots. We are also offering the opportunity to sign up to become a Deputy Registrar. Faculty, Staff and students are encouraged to participate.

FORUM: ED GILBREATH: Reconciliation Blues: A Black Evangelical's Inside View of White Christianity

Ed Gilbreath gives a fresh and insightful exploration of the current state of race relations in the church. In his book Reconciliation Blues he shares his experience as a black evangelical and his journey of faith and discovery from one who has gone to school, work and worshipped in predominately white evangelical settings for much of his life. In addition to his own story, he interviewed dozens of other black evangelicals who have had similar experiences. Being the "first" or "only" black can be a wild and sometimes lonely adventure.

FORUM: EDDIE GLAUDE: Faith and Racism

Dr. Eddie Glaude has built a reputation as a gifted scholar and teacher. A founding member and Senior Fellow of the Jamestown Project, he's also an associate professor at Princeton University, with research interests that include African American religious history and its place in American public life. Glaude was mentored by Dr. Cornel West as a Princeton grad student and has written/edited several books. In a Shade of Blue: Pragmatism and the Politics of Black America is his latest.

FORUM: Carmen Acevedo Butcher, Devotion and the Women Mystics: Are They Relevant Today?

Dr. Butcher has written numberous books on Medieval Christians and her book Incandescence is a 365 devotional journey with women mystics. Dr. Butcher was named the 2006 Georgia Professor of the Year by the Carnegie Foundation.
