What is Youth Nexus? |
Youth Nexus is a one-week experience that engages students and their youth leaders in theology and real-life situations with the intent of inspiring dialogue and transformation.
Dates
July 6-12, 2008 and July 16-22, 2008
Cost
The only cost to you is a registration fee of $50 per church, and 25% of your travel expenses.
The Community
All ECC youth leaders (clergy or laity) are welcome to apply with one or two students who are entering their junior or senior year of high school. Approximately 30 participants will be selected for Youth Nexus.
A Typical Day Looks Like This:
Each day of Youth Nexus has a theme which is carried throughout the day's activities. In order for participants to get the most out of the week, the activities are revealed as we experience them. A typical daily schedule is as follows:
- Morning: Breakfast, worship and teaching from a North Park Seminary professor on the day's theme.
- Afternoon: Lunch, and experience a community organization that is a real-world expression of that day's theme.
- Evening: Dinner and enjoy a fun Chicago attraction.
What Others Say About Youth Nexus
Youth Nexus doesn't just show you what Seminary life is like. By showing you some amazing people/places who have made vast improvements to the community, it shows you the amazing opportunities we as Christians have to make a difference while giving you a whole new perspective on God's perfect plan.

Churches who have attended Youth Nexus in previous years can apply to re-attend, but are encouraged to recruit another ECC church to apply that has a different ethnic make-up than their own church (this church cannot have attended Youth Nexus previously.) Please understand that it is NPTS' goal to share Youth Nexus with as broad a population of the ECC denomination during the lifespan of the Lilly Endowment grant as is possible. Slots will be reserved for new churches through mid-May, and notification of acceptance will be made to repeat churches at that time.
