Campus Dining Options

Food service at North Park University is operated by ARAMARK, with facilities that include a full-service dining hall and the Viking Café.

Campus Dining Hall

Providing breakfast, lunch, and dinner for students, faculty, staff, and guests, the main campus dining hall is located at the south end of our main University campus. It underwent significant renovations in the summer of 2013 and offers comfortable and varied seating options, new windows, and even a fireplace and lounge area. Check out photos of the new space.

Food service includes options to please all diners, including offerings for vegetarians and other special dietary needs. The dining hall is more than just a place to eat—it's where students catch up with their friends, meet new people, and participate in a number of campus traditions, including a yearly Thanksgiving meal served by faculty and staff.

Meal Plans and More

Renovated campus dining hall.Students who live in Anderson, Burgh, Ohlson, and Sohlberg residence halls are required to purchase one of several meal plan options. Learn more about options for special dietary needs and current pricing for meal plans, punch cards, pay-at-the-door options, and the Flex Dollars Program.

Students living in campus apartments or houses, Sawyer Court, and Park North—as well as commuter students—are welcome to purchase meal plans for the dining hall, punch cards that can be used throughout the year, or add money to a Flex Dollars account. Visitors can also pay at the door to the dining hall for individual meals.

Faculty and staff are not eligible to purchase meal plans, but do have the option to pay in cash or use the Flex Dollars program (see below) to eat in the dining hall or Viking Café.

Box Meal Options

Students on meal plans who find themselves short on time to eat in the dining hall can also participate in Aramark's box meal program, pre-ordering a meal to be picked up at their convenience. For example, a student with classes on Tuesdays from 11:00 am to 1:45 pm would miss the entire Tuesday lunch period, and can arrange a weekly Tuesday boxed lunch.

Flex Dollars Program

New for the 2013–2014 academic year, ARAMARK's Flex Dollars program allows students, faculty, and staff to load money into a declining-balance account associated with their North Park IDs and use these funds to pay for meals (at door prices) in the dining hall or purchases in Viking Café. Add as much as you wish in Flex Dollars, at any time online, and use your ID to pay. Flex Dollar balances will carry over between fall and spring semesters each year, but expire at the end of an academic year. Flex Dollars can be added in addition to any of North Park's meal plans or purchased separately by anyone not on a meal plan.

Students purchasing 15- and 20-meal plans will receive complimentary Flex Dollars each semester. If you choose to add $200 in Flex Dollars to any meal plan before September 10, 2013, you will receive an extra $20 in Flex Dollars.

Learn more at northpark.campusdish.com, or get step-by-step instructions on how to create an account and purchase Flex Dollars.
