Colleges and universities across the nation are wrestling with the question of what makes a group a community, and not just a bunch of people in the same place. At North Park, we don't think we have all the answers (we never think that), but we do invite you to become part of the dialogue. A big part of what makes a group a community is the people. North Park has about 1,400 full-time undergraduate students. They come from down the street and around the world. Their interests are wide-ranging: they study in more than 40 majors and take part in more than 30 extracurricular activities. Students of color make up about 30 percent of our student body—far more than at other Christian colleges, but still less than we would like. Being part of a community also means participation. From volunteer service to student government to residence life, North Park has limitless opportunities for students to get involved and become part of the North Park community. The mission of the people in student development is to facilitate the positive growth, development, and education of the students of North Park University-so let us know how we can serve you. If you have questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us at (773) 244-5565 or email studentdevelopment@northpark.edu. |
