Chicago, IL

B.A. in Food Service Management from the University of Wisconsin in Stevens Point; MACM from North Park Theological Seminary

I was born and raised right here in Chicago not that far from campus.

Cooking, reading, being anywhere by the water, the arts (theater, dance, visual arts, etc... This is one reason why I love living in Chicago - it fills my need to be connected to the arts).

Red Hot Chili Peppers, Santana, U2, Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Nora Jones

Little Miss Sunshine, The Four Feathers, Pride and Prejudice (the six-hour version), any of the old black and white films from the 1930s or 40s.

Lost, Dancing with the Stars (go ahead and laugh), Grey’s Anatomy

Any book by Anne Lamott, Amazing Grace and Dakota both by Kathleen Norris, Lucky Man by Michael J. Fox, With Burning Hearts by Henri Nouwen, The Rock That Is Higher by Madeleine L’Engle, The Red Tent by Anita Diamant

My dad had friends who lived on a farm in downstate Illinois. We would go down and spend the day with them. My brothers and I got to hang out in the barn with all of the animals and I especially loved all the kittens they had that we could play with. Growing up in the city, the farm was a fascinating place for me and I found that I had a love for those quiet, open places.

It wouldn’t be anyone famous because I’d get too tongue-tied so I think it would be my grandparents - I never got a chance to meet them.

Super-human strength.
