Ida Maduram

Professor of Education

Born and raised in India, Dr. Ida Maduram‘s childhood “thrived with coexisting language, culture, dance, music, food, and faith,” she says. Now she brings that passion to educating students at North Park. “I teach my students how rich our lives will be if we can embrace multiculturalism,” she says.

As coordinator of elementary and early childhood programs, Maduram helps her students to become teachers themselves. “Educators take many roles in the lives of their students and being faithful to God adds richness to the different facets of life,” she says.

Maduram serves as the School of Education’s liaison to the Golden Apple Scholarship, a program that provides scholarships and extra training opportunities for future Illinois teachers who commit to serving students in high-need schools. She advises these scholarship recipients as they complete service projects.
