Program Requirements

North Park’s master of music in performance is a 30-semester hour degree, plus ensemble participation requirements for each year of the two-year program. Major and supporting courses make up 26 of the required hours, with an additional 4 hours available for elective credits so you can choose the coursework that meets your career goals.

Internship (MUS 6100 for 1-2 sh), interpretive performance studies, opera courses, performer’s survey courses, applied lessons, composition, conducting, diction(AMUS 5421 and 5422),  chamber music, Music for Social Change and Human Values courses.

Students can also fulfill electives by taking foreign Languages, theatre courses, and anatomy courses(biology).
