4:30–7:00 p.m.: Alumni Art Exhibit, Carlson Gallery (free)

Interior Survey will showcase work by Corrie Thompson C’14. A reception and artist’s talk will be held from 4:30–6:00 p.m.

Saturday, October 8

8:00 a.m.: Viking Run 5K, check-in at Holmgren Athletic Complex entrance at Foster and Albany Avenues, Race at 8:30 a.m., $10 ($5 for current NPU students with a valid ID)

Viking Run 5K is open to North Park alumni and their families. All runners will receive a pair of North Park socks and are encouraged to dress with North Park spirit. Viking Run shirts are available for purchase here.  To receive your shirt in time for the race, shirts MUST be purchased by September 18, 2022.  Viking Spirit wear is available for at our online bookstore. A portion of the Viking Run t-shirt sales will go to support student scholarships through the North Park Fund. Advance registration is recommended.

10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.: Reunion & Awards Brunch, Campus Gymnasium, Carlson Tower, $20

Don your best blue and gold and reunite with friends at the annual Reunion and Awards Brunch. All alumni are welcome to join members of the Academy, Junior College, University, and Seminary reunion classes of 1937, ’42, ’47, ’52, ’57, ’62, ’67, ’72, ’77, ’82, ’87, ’92, ’97, 2002, ‘07, ’12, and ’17 for this special event, which includes the opportunity to participate in a reunion photo. Pre-event registration required. 2022 Distinguished Alumni Award recipients include North Park Academy Distinguished Alumni Award: David S. Carlson A’57 JC’59; North Park University Distinguished Alumni Award: Armour F. Swanson C’52; and North Park University Distinguished Young Alumni Award: Karen A. Kelly C’12.

Saturday, October 8 (cont.)

11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.: Homecoming Fest, Hamming Hall (outdoors weather permitting), $10 suggested donation (free for NPU students with valid ID)

The entire North Park community is invited to celebrate Homecoming with games, food, music, and more. Kids’ Dash race will take place at 11:15 a.m. for children ages 5–9 (a parent/guardian must be present).

11:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m.: Diversity Tailgate, Kedzie and Kimball parking lot, (free)

Connect with friends at a tailgate prior to the Homecoming football game hosted by the Office of Diversity. Join us for tailgate fare and soft drinks.

12:00 p.m.: Campus Tours, meet in Old Main lobby, (free)

1:00 p.m.: Football vs. Carthage College, Hedstrand Field, Holmgren Athletic Complex

4:00–6:00 p.m.: GOLD Reunion, Carbon Arc Bar & Board 4620 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL 60625, $10

Graduates of the Last Decade (classes of 2012–2022) are invited to the annual Homecoming GOLD Reunion for food, drinks, and a chance to reconnect with friends.

Sunday, October 9

Sunday Worship

3:00 p.m.: 13th Annual Viking Alumni Baseball Classic, Hedstrand Field, Holmgren Athletic Complex

Viking baseball alumni are invited to play in the 13th Annual Viking Baseball Classic. RSVP to Luke Johnson, head baseball coach, at (773) 244-5675 or ljohnson6@northpark.edu. All participants receive a free North Park Baseball Alumni t-shirt. Batting practice begins at 2:00 p.m.


A block of rooms has been reserved for North Park University alumni and friends during Homecoming weekend at Residence Inn Chicago Wilmette/Skokie. Reservations must be made by Saturday, September 24.
