Exhibition: Kayla Lorenz Reception and Artist Talk

Kayla Lorenz is a Chicago-based graphic designer and sports photographer. She is studying Graphic Design and Sport Management, while also competing as a student-athlete on the softball team at North Park. Growing up in competitive environments her whole life has shaped her unique approach to capturing athletes in decisive moments. Her experience in sports and arts offers unique insight on the emotion behind performance, allowing her to transform specific moments into compelling images and designs.

She is also a member of NPU Media, North Park’s sports media team, where she creates graphics, photographs games, and posts relative content on different social platforms. A lot of her work is posted on the NPU Athletics and Media Instagram, serving as both promotion and documentation of sporting events. Additionally, she has coached travel softball for four years and counting, allowing her to constantly engage and witness the growth of the sport.
