Imagine spending spring break studying and traveling in Sweden! The School of Education is pleased to announce its Academic Odyssey 2018—a short-term study/travel course, designed for prospective teachers seeking to strengthen intercultural skills. By visiting local schools in Jönköping and Stockholm, students will learn about the unique Swedish educational system while focusing on refugee and immigrant education and the teaching of Swedish as a second language. Historical and cultural sites are also an integral part of this trip. While not obligatory, students who wish to earn 2 SH (not included in cost) can enroll in the course 3915/5915. All undergraduate, graduate students, alumni, and faculty are welcome to take part in this program. Cost of the program is $2,600 (including air, hotels, breakfast, and excursions.
