In this interactive workshop, participants will explore what bias and microinequities are, how they show up in the workplace and the critical role of managing both in creating an inclusive environment. This session will provide an opportunity for attendees to engage in experiential activities exploring personal bias as well as discussion of scenarios highlighting common types of workplace bias and implications for behaviors, decisions, processes, and practices. Attendees will then learn about hidden messages behind microinequities, ways to respond and the skill to recover the relationship when microinequities occur. Since everyone plays a role in creating an inclusive environment, the participants will be invited to create a personal commitment plan at the end of the session.
