SUMMARY:Appreciative Inquiry
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Academy of Church Leadership is excited to announce our 2019 workshop series including Appreciatve Inquiry by Peter Sjoblom. \nThis workshop will teach participants how to engage in an appreciative inquiry to improve the administration of thier church. Appreciative Inquiry is a planning method that builds on positive experiences as a way to envision the future in a healthy\, holistic manner. Appreciate Inquiry (AI):\n• Is a reaction against problem-focused action research\n• Shifts focus to strengths and positives\, to the ‘positive core’ of a situation or organisation\n• Focus on social construction & collective strengths\n• ‘A cooperative\, co-evolutionary search for the best in people\, their organizations\, and the world around them.’\nAI is particularly helpful in church settings\, building on the best aspects of the church and developing a future based on those aspects. \nWorkshop Tickets[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row] \n

SUMMARY:First Year Registration Day
DESCRIPTION:Registration Day is required for first-year undergraduate admitted students to get a head start on preparing for fall classes at North Park. You will be able to register for classes with the help of faculty and academic advisors\, meet your future classmates who are also interested in your intended major\, and learn more about student activities on campus. You’ll have a complete fall course schedule by the end of the day. \nFirst-year admitted students are expected to attend a Registration Day event in the spring or summer.  For those who cannot attend the April registration\, there are other registration events available: \nMay 4\, 2019\nMay 18\, 2019\nJune 21\, 2019 \nParents and guests are welcome to attend Registration Day\, as well\, and will have the opportunity to hear from North Park staff and faculty about college transition for their students\, career paths\, and academic success. \nEvent Registration\nYou will need to pay your tuition deposit (refundable until May 1) before attending one of the Registration Day events. This signifies that you intend to come to North Park in the fall and starts the process of activating your North Park Network Account\, including a North Park student email address. This is required in order to register for classes and receive important information throughout the spring and summer as you continue to prepare for the fall. Registration Day is a full-day event\, and you must attend the entire day in order to get your course schedule. \nRSVP for April 13 \nSchedule\nDownload Schedule \nTransportation\nWe are happy to provide directions to campus and if needed\, we can assist you and your family in arranging transportation from an airport\, bus\, or train terminal to North Park’s campus. \nParking Information\nYou may park in our visitor parking lot at the corner of Foster and Kedzie Avenues. No visitor parking passes are needed for the event. Download a campus map with designated parking areas. \nLodging\nThere will not be on-campus housing overnight available for this event. There are a number of hotels in the nearby area as well as downtown Chicago. Accommodations must be made directly with the hotels. Your hotel may be able to offer transportation options to and from campus\, so be sure to ask. Otherwise\, a vast array of car rental agencies have offices at O’Hare and Midway Airports. \nIn addition\, we can recommend a number of excellent restaurants\, both in the North Park area and around the city. \n
