Beyond his role as a practicing athletic trainer at North Park, Eric McQuaid chooses to be involved with the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE), as well. “Through both classroom and clinical time with students learning my trade,” he says, “I am privileged to have a direct influence on future allied healthcare professionals at the ground level within an exceptional education program.”
In addition, McQuaid appreciates the opportunity to get to know his students and student-athletes and to focus on the values that North Park promotes. “I enjoy working with our student-athletes to educate them on leading a healthy and safe lifestyle,” he says.
McQuaid believes that part of what gives his athletic training students an advantage is the resources North Park offers through its location and relationships throughout the city. “We have an ever-expanding list of clinical rotation and internship opportunities across Chicago’s top-notch medical community,” he says, “ranging from nationally-recognized hospitals and surgeons to professional sports teams.”
McQuaid primarily provides services for women’s soccer, women’s basketball, and baseball.
