Student violinist with orchestra

The School of Music at North Park University

Along with a full spectrum of academic courses that provide the foundation for an informed musician, the North Park School of Music offers a wide array of applied training, performance opportunities, and touring. Choral, instrumental, and opera organizations schedule numerous concerts during the year. Solo opportunities exist with all ensembles, and in weekly recitals, studio classes, and guest master classes.

Mission of the School of Music

The mission of the School of Music is to prepare our students to lead lives of significance and service through the medium of music. We are Christian in identity and character yet welcoming to students of all perspectives. As a professional faculty, we seek to help students develop their full potential as musicians who are excellent performers, teachers, scholars, composers, conductors and ministers of music, understanding that together we are stewards of a gift that leads us outward into service to others. Inspired by our Chicago location, we encourage students to gain a multicultural musical perspective through a diverse curriculum and challenging performance opportunities.
