Profile
Dr. Ashley Roberts is an Assistant Professor of Counseling and the Director of Clinical Training in the Clinical Mental Health Program. Her teaching philosophy is deeply influenced by her training as a mental health clinical counselor. As a counselor, she believes that people heal and grow in the context of relationships. She states, “In all my teaching aims, I attempt to foster a classroom that invites people to share their lived experiences and to disrupt oppressive power dynamics that may show up in the classroom.” As the Director of Clinical Training, she aims to empower student to identify vocational goals and facilitate relationships with various sites to work out the best fit, both for students and the clients being served by that site.
