Sport Management at North Park

This program prepares you for careers in professional sports, athletic departments, parks and recreation, health clubs, sports media, marketing, and nonprofit organizations like the YMCA. Located in Chicago, one of the United States’ top sports cities, North Park offers a 300-hour internship with local sports and recreation organizations as part of the sports management concentration, providing a solid foundation in this growing field.

BSE 3830 – Sport Finance and Operations
This course is designed to inform and educate the student on finance, accounting, and risk management issues applied to sports organization managers. Included are forms of ownership, taxation, financial analysis, fund-raising, licensing, and current legal issues.

Internship requirement

To earn a Bachelor of Science in Business with a concentration in sport management, you’ll complete a 150-hour minimum internship. This valuable first-person experience in a professional setting will introduce you to the industry and help you build connections that may help you in your first career after college.
