You’ll graduate prepared for the NCLEX-RN (National Council Licensure Examination) examination. Graduates who pass this exam become licensed as registered nurses (RNs) and are eligible to work in a healthcare setting.

Direct admission

North Park rewards academic excellence with direct admission to our renowned 50-year nursing program. This ensures:

  • Guaranteed entry into the program in the third year
  • Faculty mentorship during the first two years
  • Early clinical enrichment opportunities in your intended field

Requirements include:

  • Unweighted high school GPA of ≥3.75. If your GPA is between 3.5–3.75, you may provide test scores for consideration (≥27 ACT score or ≥1290 SAT score).
  • While attending North Park, maintain an overall and science courses GPA of ≥2.75 upon starting the nursing program. A North Park GPA below 2.75 before beginning the nursing program will void guaranteed admission.
North Park has some of the best clinical experiences. Being in the city makes so many different hospitals available for our rotations. It also allows us to get different experiences with various demographics in person compared to simulated experiences many other programs have.

Clinical rotations

Clinical rotations enable nursing majors to explore their interests by gaining practical experience in different specialties while putting into practice what they learn in the classroom and the Nursing Simulation Lab. We place students in magnet-designated hospitals—recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center—throughout Chicago. The city’s tremendous diversity means that students treat patients from different racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds and age groups.
