How to Apply to the Master of Science in Athletic Training Program

Application deadline

When to apply: A new cohort begins each summer. Admission decisions are made on a rolling basis, starting in the fall. Applications received before February 1 receive priority review.
Program length: Two years (six terms: summer, fall, and spring)

Getting started

To apply for North Park University’s MSAT program, use the Athletic Training Centralized Application Service (ATCAS) online application. We can only review your application after ATCAS processes and verifies all required documents.

 

Application requirements

  1. ATCAS application
  2. Successful completion of the following courses (or equivalent) by the program start date: 
    • Human anatomy (3–4 credit hours)
    • Human physiology (3–4 credit hours)
    • Biology (3–4 credit hours)
    • Chemistry (2–4 credit hours)
    • Physics (2–4 credit hours)
    • Introduction to psychology (3–4 credit hours)
    • CPR/AED certification
  3. Minimum GPA of 3.0 (preferred)
  4. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (official transcripts required)
  5. 50 hours of clinical observation under an athletic trainer
  6. Two professional letters of recommendation (one from the athletic trainer supervising observation hours)
  7. Résumé
  8. Personal statement
  9. Verification of meeting technical standards
  10. Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended

 

Conditional admission

If official transcripts are not available, you may submit unofficial documents to North Park for review. If you’re conditionally admitted:

  • You’ll receive feedback on your candidacy, and a conditional acceptance letter from the School of Nursing and Health Sciences.
  • To gain full admission, submit official transcripts to ATCAS within 21 days of the program start date.
  • Failure to submit official documents by this deadline will result in administrative withdrawal (you’ll be removed from courses but still responsible for full payment).

  • Check your ATCAS portal regularly to monitor your application status, including the receipt of transcripts and recommendations.
