Tax benefits for education

Many North Park students and families may qualify for education-related tax benefits. While North Park University does not provide personal tax advice, the following IRS resources may be helpful:

Outside scholarships

The Financial Aid Office regularly receives information about external scholarship opportunities. Students who receive an outside scholarship should have the funds sent to:

Scholarship funds are due by October 1 for the fall semester and March 1 for the spring semester. Students are advised to avoid applying for scholarships that require a fee.

Featured outside scholarships

The Varsity Tutors Monthly Scholarship awards $1,000 to students who submit an essay based on a provided prompt. The deadline is the 15th of each month. More information is available at Varsity Tutors.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Undergraduate Scholarship Program offers up to $20,000 per year to cover tuition, educational expenses, and reasonable living costs. More details can be found at NIH Undergraduate Scholarship.

The Innovation in Education Monthly Scholarship provides a $500 award to students who demonstrate creativity and a positive impact through projects such as fundraisers, apps, or blogs. Applicants must submit an essay describing their project and provide supporting documentation. The deadline is the 20th of each month at 11:59 PM PST.
