Commencement

We look forward to celebrating your accomplishments at Commencement. Details will be communicated via email.

North Park University is following COVID-19 guidance from the CDC, Chicago, and Cook County health departments. Updates and recommendations from these institutions may impact upcoming events. We will communicate via email any changes that may need to be imposed due to public health safety regulations.

Winter Commencement Convocation: Friday, December 16

Regalia and Ticket Distribution

Wednesday, December 14, 4:00–5:15 p.m., Hamming Hall
All graduates are expected to attend this distribution to obtain their cap, gown, hood, honor cords (if applicable), and tickets.

Rehearsal

Wednesday, December 14, 5:30–6:30 p.m., North Park Gymnasium
All graduates are expected to attend this rehearsal. Specific instructions regarding Commencement will be given at this time.

Ceremony

Friday, December 16, 7:00 p.m., North Park Gymnasium
Graduates will assemble in caps, gowns, and hoods in the gymnasium basement, starting at the former bookstore, no later than 6:30 p.m.

Commencement Procedures
Each graduate participating in the Commencement ceremony will receive four (4) tickets. Due to space limitations, we are unable to provide more than 4 tickets per participating graduate. The tickets will be distributed along with the academic regalia prior to rehearsal. Guests with tickets will be admitted from 6:15–6:45 p.m. Tickets will not be required after 6:45 p.m., when, if space permits, ushers will seat guests without tickets.

For family members or friends who are unable to attend, a live stream of the ceremony will be available at .

All campus parking lots will be open for distribution and rehearsal on December 14 and for Commencement on December 16. View a map of campus.

 

Spring Commencement Convocation

Distribution Event
Wednesday, May 11
2:00–3:15 pm, Campus Gym (Carlson Tower) Traditional Undergraduate students are expected to attend this distribution event to obtain their cap, gown, hood, honor cords (if applicable), and five (5) tickets.

4:00–5:15 pm, Campus Gym (Carlson Tower) All Graduate programs, School of Professional Studies, and RN-to-BSN are expected to attend this distribution event to obtain their cap, gown, hood, and honor cords (if applicable). There are no tickets required for the 2:00 pm ceremony.

Commencement Rehearsal
Wednesday, May 11
3:30–4:30 pm, Helwig Recreation Center – Traditional Undergraduate
5:30–6:30 pm, Helwig Recreation Center – All Graduate programs, School of Professional Studies, and RN-to-BSN program

Baccalaureate Service
Friday, May 13
7:30 pm, Fourth Presbyterian Church
Tickets are not required for family and friends who wish to attend the Baccalaureate Service. Reduced parking ($8) is available at the 900 N. Michigan self-park garage beginning at 5:00 pm on May 13.
