Brandel Library Renovations

Renovation timeline

Renovations begin May 11, 2026.

Phase one: May 11–August 14, 2026

• The library and archives physical spaces and collections will be closed to public access.
• Electronic resources will remain fully available through the library website.
• Brandel Library staff and faculty will work remotely and remain available to support research and instructional needs.
• A designated on-campus location will be provided for library material pickup and drop-off.

Phase two: August 17, 2026–January 4, 2027

• Partial access to the library’s physical space will resume.
• Library collections and core services will be available.
• Construction will continue in select areas of the building.
• An alternative testing location for students with accommodations will be provided elsewhere on campus.

Planned improvements

• View layouts and furniture plans to see how renovated spaces will support student services, collaboration, instruction, and study.
• Student Success and Career Services staff are housed within the library to improve access to support resources.
• A new outdoor courtyard designed for study breaks and informal social gatherings.
• Additional classroom space to support first-year courses.
• A redesigned first-floor layout that increases natural light and strengthens opportunities for student connection.
• Upgraded restrooms on the first and lower levels.
• Comprehensive HVAC improvements throughout the entire building.
