About the Center for Online Education (COE)


The COE leads the development and coordination of online courses and programs at North Park University, supporting baccalaureate, certificate, and graduate programs.

The COE offers a variety of resources for faculty and specialized services for online students, including clear points of contact for assistance. It is responsible for administering the Learning Management System (LMS), Canvas, and collaborates with academic departments, IT, the Brandel Library, and the Office of the Provost.

Mission

The COE’s mission is to assist in designing flexible courses and providing support for students seeking alternatives to traditional classroom settings.

Accreditation & quality control

North Park University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and participates in the Quality Matters (QM) program, ensuring high standards in online course development and delivery.

Canvas for classes

North Park uses Canvas as its LMS. The COE provides training for faculty, staff, and students through workshops, webinars, and self-paced tutorials.

NC-SARA

North Park University participates in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA), simplifying state oversight for distance education. Submit a complaint here with the project type: COE-Canvas.
