Master of Music Performance at North Park
Prepare for a career as a professional musician with a Master of Music Performance degree. Professional faculty who are practicing musicians lead the student-centered program in culturally rich Chicago. Coursework includes the theory and practice of music performance, pedagogy, and leadership skills. This degree will prepare and inspire you for the rigorous and multifaceted career demands of a professional musician. In addition, the School of Music, Art, and Theatre aims to equip underrepresented musicians with the opportunity to take on leadership roles in their chosen fields.

Featured course
MUS 5450 Opera Workshop
For experienced singers selected through auditions by the instructor. Emphasis is on the development of singing-acting skills through lecture, discussion, and exercises in character interaction using appropriate staging techniques. A scene recital is presented at the conclusion of the course. Scenes may be performed in a foreign language or in English.
Internship opportunities
Graduate students are encouraged to gain real-world experience through internships. North Park partners with organizations such as Bella Voce – Chicago, Chicago Fringe Opera, The Musical Offering, The Voice Lab, and Trinity United Methodist Church.
