Theatre Minor

Why Study Theatre?

North Park University’s Theatre Program is based on the “storefront” model of creating productions for intimate and unique settings. Chicago is world-renowned for its contribution to this movement, which makes our urban campus the perfect place for students to get hands-on training. North Park’s collaborations with prestigious theatre artists and varied theatre companies prepare students for real-world careers. Our holistic approach to theatre studies give students the opportunity to learn the full spectrum of practical skills that an artist needs to be successful. We celebrate the fact that the learning is in the doing.

Student Opportunities

  • Internships at outstanding theatres include the Goodman, Steppenwolf, Lookingglass, and Chicago Shakespeare.
  • Our vast alumni network offers connections and opportunities at many Chicago area companies where they are employed.
  • Access to more than 200 producing theatres in Chicago, providing endless opportunities to see world-class stage productions.
