International Transfer Students
Students who have earned university credits and plan to complete their bachelor’s degree at North Park can transfer credits from U.S. community colleges, international universities, and some advanced secondary programs. If you have taken university courses in the U.S. or abroad, you must inform your admissions counselor. A complete academic record is required for admission.

Transcript requirements
- From a U.S. institution: Request an official transcript via Parchment, Clearinghouse, or another electronic service, or have it mailed to:

Student-submitted transcripts are not accepted.
- From a foreign institution: A course-by-course transcript evaluation is required from:
If using a different service, contact admissions@northpark.edu to verify the evaluation will be accepted.
If admitted while a semester is in progress, submit a final transcript and updated evaluation upon completion.
North Park will conduct an internal evaluation to determine transferable credits and estimate your time to degree completion.
Academic recommendations
A current or former teacher must submit a letter verifying your academic abilities. Use the online application to request a recommendation by providing your recommender’s email. North Park will contact them on your behalf.
English proficiency requirement
North Park does not offer an ESL program and requires international students to provide proof of English proficiency. Accepted test scores:
- TOEFL iBT: 80 (lower scores considered based on subject scores)
- IELTS: 6.0 (lower scores considered based on subject scores)
- Duolingo: 105
- Pearson PTE: 53
- Cambridge English Assessment: B2
- Oxford ELLT: 7 (Use promo code NPU10 for a discount)
TOEFL/IELTS waiver for U.S. transfers : You may qualify for a TOEFL/IELTS waiver if you have:
- At least 60 transferable credit hours
- Completed Composition 101 & 102 or ENG 101 & 102 (or equivalents)
Eligibility is determined upon review of your official transcript.
Visa sponsorship
International students need visa sponsorship to study in the U.S. To apply for an F-1 student visa, you must obtain a Form I-20. North Park can issue your Form I-20 only after admission and submission of:
- Passport ID page (scan and email to medrake@northpark.edu)
- Bank statement (showing at least six months of deposits in the sponsor’s name)
- Financial affidavit of support
SEVIS Transfer for U.S. College Transfers
If you have a valid Form I-20, North Park will work with your current school to transfer your SEVIS record, allowing you to retain your accrued benefits.
Credit evaluation process
After receiving your transcripts or course-by-course evaluation, North Park will conduct an internal credit review. Once completed, your recruiter will provide a transfer evaluation.
