1. Set Up Your Account

  • Activate your NPU account: You’ll receive an email with your NPU username and password.
  • Reset your password using the [Password Reset tool].
  • Enable Multifactor Authentication by following the setup instructions.

 

2. Apply for Financial Aid

  • U.S. citizens or permanent residents: Complete the FAFSA to be eligible for federal loans.
  • Undocumented students in Illinois: You may qualify for state aid (including MAP grants) through the RISE Act.

To maintain eligibility, you must:

  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress
  • Attend at least half-time (6 credits for graduate studies)
  • Not be in default on federal loans


3. Register for Classes

  • After completing your commitment form, you’ll be automatically enrolled in GS-2050 and GS-2080.
  • Your SPS Advisor will confirm your enrollment.
    To receive federal financial aid, you must be enrolled in 6 credit hours per semester (one Quad A course + one Quad B course).
  • Once registered, you’ll get an email from Student Accounts about billing.

 

4. Complete Orientation

  • Online Orientation (ACSR 0100): Log into your Canvas account with your NPU credentials.
  • New Student Orientation Event: View the orientation calendar.

 

5. Get Your Textbooks

  • Find required textbooks in your course syllabi.
  • Purchase them through the online bookstore in Canvas or [visit here].
