Internship planning
Internships give you hands-on experience, build your résumé, and help you explore potential careers.

Start with a one-on-one appointment: We’ll help you with internship search strategies, résumé and cover letter development, and academic credit guidelines and registration.

Program-specific support: Some majors, like nursing or athletic training, include internships in your coursework. Others, like business and economics, require you to find internships independently—with support from your faculty advisor and our team.

Internship eligibility and requirements
To earn academic credit for your internship, you must:

  • Be a junior or senior with a declared major
  • Have completed at least two semesters at North Park
  • Hold a minimum 2.0 GPA overall and 2.4 in your major (some departments may require higher GPAs)
  • Register for 1–8 credit hours (40 work hours per credit hour)
  • Complete all approvals and paperwork via DocuSign before starting your internship

F-1 Students: Must consult the Director of International Affairs before beginning. Paid internships require work authorization.

Deadline: Internship courses must be added by Week 1 of the semester.
