Registering for Classes and Academic Policies

New student registration


  • Traditional Undergraduate Students: First-semester registration details are available in the Admitted Students section. You’ll also receive instructions by email and mail.
  • Graduate and Degree-Completion Students: Your admissions counselor will provide your initial enrollment information.

Returning student registration


  • Undergraduate, Graduate, and Degree-Completion Students register through Student Planning in Self-Service.
  • Traditional undergraduates must meet with their faculty advisor before registering.
  • Your registration time is based on credits earned. Watch your North Park email for specific registration dates and instructions.
  • Registration typically opens:
    • Fall Semester: March/April
    • Spring Semester: October

 

How to register

  1. Log in to Self-ServiceStudent Planning
  2. Search current course offerings
  3. Meet with your advisor to create your plan
  4. Register online once your registration window opens

Add/drop policy

  • You may add or drop courses before the term starts and with some limitations during the first week of class.
  • No charge for changes through the first week; a $15 fee applies for additions after that.
    Submit an Add/Drop Form with:

    • Name and ID
    • Term and course details (department, number, section, title, credits, instructor)

Remote Add/Drop Requests

If you can’t use Student Planning:

  • To add a course:
    • Ask the instructor to email approval to registrar@northpark.edu, or
    • Forward their approval email yourself
  • To drop a course:
    • Ask the instructor to email confirmation of your withdrawal, or
    • Forward their confirmation email

Important: You cannot drop your last remaining class online. Email registrar@northpark.edu to request a full withdrawal.
