This guide outlines six essential steps to help you transition smoothly as a North Park University transfer student. For the full checklist, visit: Next Steps as a North Park Student

Step 1: Activate Your NPU Account

  • Set up your Account.
  • Select “Self-Service Password Reset.” 
  • Create a password with at least 14 characters. 

Step 2: Request Final Transcripts and AP Scores

  • Final Transcripts: Request official transcripts after final grades are posted.
  • AP Scores: Contact the College Board at (888) 225-5427.
    North Park’s code is 1556.

Step 3: Complete Course Registration

  • Watch your North Park email:
    Your academic advisor will create a schedule based on your major and transfer evaluation. You’ll receive an email once your schedule is approved.
  • Access your student tools:
    Visit myNPU for your NPU Student Systems Hub, which includes email (Outlook) and Self-Service. Important: You must register yourself. Course availability changes daily—register early.

How to Register

  • Log in to “Self-Service”
  • Select “Student Planning”
  • Choose “Plan Your Degree and Schedule Your Courses”
  • Click the blue “Register Now” button (top right)
  • Registered courses appear in green

Credit Requirements:

  • Full-time: 12–17 credits
  • Full MAP Grant: 15+ credits

Step 4: Review Financial Aid and Student Accounts

  • File your FAFSA at studentaid.gov. Use North Park’s code: 001735
  • Not eligible for FAFSA? Complete the ISAC Alternative Application.
  • Federal Stafford Loans: First-time borrowers must complete the Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Entrance Counseling at studentaid.gov using your FSA ID.
    (These are one-time requirements.)

  • Make your first payment in Student Finance (Self-Service).
    Payments are due on the 15th of each month from July 15 to June 15.

How to Secure On-Campus Housing

  1. Pay Your $250 Housing Deposit
    Please allow 24 hours after submitting your tuition deposit before paying the housing deposit. This deposit is held throughout your enrollment and refunded upon graduation (minus any damage fees).
  2. Complete the Housing Application
    Applications open in February (Fall admits) and October (Spring admits).
  3. Register for Classes
    Housing assignments are made after your course registration. Both the housing deposit and housing application must be submitted to receive a room assignment.

Commuting Eligibility

You may request commuter status if any of the following apply:

  • You live with a parent or legal guardian within 30 miles of campus
  • You have 90+ credits (senior standing)
  • You are 21 or older by September 1

How to Secure Commuter Status

  • Complete Commuter Application
  • Students who do not complete the commuter application will be charged a $1,125 non-compliance fee per semester.

Commuter Appeals
If you do not meet the eligibility criteria and would like to request an exception, contact the Director of Residence Life and Housing to request a commuter appeal form.

Step 6: Submit Medical Forms

After paying your tuition deposit, you will receive an immunization record form.
Submit this form by:

  • July 15 (Fall)
  • December 15 (Spring)

Student Athletes:
Submit the pre-participation packet for athletic clearance.

Fall/Spring Welcome Week Schedule 

  • Friday, January 9: Student move-in and check-in.
  • Friday, August 22: Required programming (fall only).
  • Saturday, August 23: City excursion day (fall only).
  • Sunday, August 24: University Ministries programming (fall only).
  • Monday–Wednesday, August 25–27: Pop-up campus resource events (attend as available; fall only).
