Current Undergraduate Students

As a returning student, you get even more choices regarding roommates. You may keep your current roommate or choose another (or more). The housing sign-up process allows you and your roommate(s) to select each other and apply for a room or apartment together.

If you previously selected being a commuter student and want to change to a resident student, please contact the Office of Residence Life and Housing to begin the process.

Returning student housing sign-up

Housing requirement

North Park requires undergraduate students to live on campus for their first three years, unless they are:

  • Commuter students living with parents or guardians within 30 miles of campus
  • Part-time students
  • Married students
  • 21 years old or greater

Commuters must submit a commuter application for approval. Review the housing policies and terms to avoid financial penalties.

Housing application

Check your North Parker email for the housing application link from Residence Life. To apply, you must:

  • Be registered full-time (12+ credit hours) by the fall semester.
  • Have your $250 housing deposit on file.
  • Update your emergency contact info in Self-Service.
  • Apply as a group that matches room/apartment occupancy.
  • Ensure all group members sign the housing agreement.
  • Have 60+ completed credit hours (for apartments/houses).

North Park will disqualify any incomplete applications.

Housing deposit

North Park University holds her $250 deposit during your time at the university and refunds it at graduation, minus any damage or service fees.

Room assignments

  • Returning residents can view their assignments via Self-Service.
  • Former commuter students can view their assigned housing three–five days later, if applicable.

Room Change Week

Room Change Week occurs the third week of each semester. To request a change, send an email to your area coordinator. Requests are first-come, first-served, and depend on availability.

Housing FAQ

If you apply before the deadline, assignments are based on your group’s total completed credits by the end of the spring semester. Late applications are based on completed credits and availability at the time of processing.

We can’t process your application until everyone is registered full-time for the fall semester. Ensure your entire group meets all the checklist requirements to avoid delays.

You can only move off campus if you qualify as a commuter student (living with parents or guardians within 30 miles), married, part-time, or 21 years old or older. Otherwise, moving off campus may result in a non-compliance fee. Submit a commuter application for approval.

You need a meal plan if you live in Anderson Hall, Burgh Hall, or Ohlson House.

You can only live in an apartment or house as a sophomore if you will have 60+ completed credit hours by the end of the spring semester or are 21 years old or older. Otherwise, you’ll be assigned to residence hall housing.

If you need housing accommodations, email the disability access specialist to request them.
