North Park University is committed to maintaining a safe, secure environment for all students, faculty, and staff. Our Campus Safety team is available 24/7, and we offer a range of services, tools, and resources to help keep our community informed, prepared, and protected.

Campus safety services
- 24/7 Patrol: Campus Safety officers, many of whom are active or former law enforcement personnel, patrol campus daily and have full authority to act in criminal matters.
- Viking Shuttle & Security Escorts:
- Shuttle Hours: 7:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m.
- Outside these hours, security escorts are available upon request.
- Safety Collaboration: Officers work closely with local law enforcement, particularly the 17th Chicago Police District, for rapid support and coordination.
LiveSafe app – your mobile safety tool
LiveSafe is a free safety app for real-time communication with Campus Safety. Key features include:
- Report Tips (with photos, videos, or audio)
- Chat with Dispatch or Call 911
- SafeWalk & SafeRide for real-time location sharing or requesting an escort
- Safety Maps with crime alerts and directions
- Quick Access to Campus Resources
How to get started:

Annual campus safety report
North Park’s Campus Safety and Security Report is published annually in compliance with federal law. It includes:
- Crime statistics from the past three years
- Policies on alcohol, drugs, sexual misconduct, and discrimination
- Reporting procedures and prevention initiatives
- Fire safety plans for residence halls
Personal safety & preparedness
- Emergency Procedures: Learn what to do in the event of fire, severe weather, or threats to safety.
- Safety Tips: Stay aware, use common sense, and take advantage of university resources for personal protection.
Safety data sheets (SDS)
Under federal regulations, you have the right to know about chemicals you may encounter on campus. SDS information is available through a secure online database (accessible only on campus with a North Park login).
