Student Care provides one-on-one support, guidance, resources, and referrals for North Park students facing challenges related to mental and physical health, family or personal emergencies, financial hardship, or other life concerns. Our goal is to help students thrive by prioritizing well-being and academic success throughout their time at North Park.

Let’s Talk is a free, informal counseling option with no appointment required. Drop in for support related to any concern.

ThrivingCampus
ThrivingCampus connects students to off-campus mental health providers. It includes a helpful guide on how to find a clinician and understand payment options.

TalkCampus
TalkCampus is a free, 24/7 peer-to-peer mental health support app. Students can use their NPU email to sign up and talk anonymously with other students around the world in real time.

Student Care Program


The Student Care Program offers limited financial assistance to currently enrolled students experiencing financial hardship. This program supports essential, short-term needs and is not a substitute for financial aid or loans.

Who can apply

  • Current full- or part-time students enrolled in a degree or certificate program, regardless of program
  • Must be actively attending (not on break or a leave of absence)
  • Must show effort to cover living costs
  • Must have explored all other financial aid options

What can be covered

  • Medical costs
  • Food and essential supplies
  • Rent and utility bills
  • Emergency housing or travel
  • Childcare
  • Safety needs (e.g., lock changes)
  • Replacement of essential items after emergencies

What cannot be covered

  • Tuition, fees, room & board
  • Student loan payments
  • Non-essential purchases, travel, or utilities
  • Fines, tickets, or entertainment expenses

Application process

Students can apply through the online Student Care Program application. Supporting documents (e.g., bills, eviction notices, receipts) may be uploaded to strengthen the request.

  • Eligible students may receive up to $1,000 per academic year
  • Multiple applications allowed per year, based on need and available funds
  • Receipts required within 30 days for reimbursements or new purchases
  • The Student Care Committee reviews applications within 3–4 business days
