STEM at North Park is experiential-based where students learn side-by-side with caring faculty, utilize state-of-the-art technology, and engage in hands-on learning opportunities on and off campus. The Division of Sciences consists of five departments:

Experience Science at North Park

At North Park science is more than just memorization and text books – here, students learn through experiencing science. With a hands-on academic approach, experiential learning opportunities seamlessly integrate into the daily and long-term skill-building curriculum through:

  • Smart classrooms
  • Smart laboratories
  • One-on-one research with faculty
  • Field experience in Chicago, nationally, and internationally
  • Training in our lab safety program
  • Working as a teaching assistant, tutor, writing advisor, or laboratory assistant

STEM Majors

Students have the opportunity to choose from a variety of in-demand majors:

  • Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Environmental Science, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology

Housed in our state-of-the-art science facility, students experience science authentically. Smart technology extends from the classroom to the laboratory offering access to real-time information, modern technology, and specialized laboratories including:

  • Laser Laboratory
  • PHEN hub

Pre-Professional Programs

The STEM programs in the Division of Sciences diversely train students, preparing graduates for careers or advanced degrees in life and health sciences:

  • Pre-Med

  • Physician Assistant
  • Preparation for Allied Health Fields (Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy)

Get Involved with Summer Science Academy

For high school juniors and seniors, Summer Science Academy is a fun, exciting way to get to know North Park, experience state-of-the-art facilities, and explore science on a university level.

For current North Park students, Summer Science Academy is an opportunity to work as a TA under the guidance of our expert faculty. Gain experience as a mentor while preparing and gaining knowledge on how labs and experiments are taught.
