Career Course and Inventories

Career Planning Course

ACSR 1030 is a 2-credit course designed for first-year, second-year, and transfer students who want to conduct academic major and career exploration. The course will help you increase an understanding of your own interests, skills, needs, and values. It will encourage you to actively plan the college coursework, employment, internships, and activities you need to support your career goals. You will also learn about the many experiential opportunities that will build the skills and experiences you need to become competitive upon graduation.

Interest Inventories

Choosing a major and a career can feel overwhelming. We want to help you make an informed decision by providing you access to interest inventories that can set you on the path that is right for you. After you take the assessment, you can set up a meeting to discuss your results. We offer the following inventories:

  • FOCUS2 Assessment

FOCUS2 is an online self-assessment inventory of your interests, personality, skills, values, likes, and dislikes. This is exactly the information you need to select classes or choose a career you can be passionate about. FOCUS2 results match, support, and promote North Park’s majors. Complete FOCUS2 and follow up with a career advisor to review your report. You will need the keycode “vikings” to register.
