Student Petitions

Student petitions require approval of the Academic Cabinet, which meets once each month. Students are responsible for submitting completed petitions, including the signature of their academic advisor, and in the case of pass/fail requests of the course instructor, by uploading the NPTS Student Petition to this submission form; monthly deadlines are listed on the submission form. Requests to complete a course pass/fail must be submitted within the first four weeks of the term. In completing your petition, please be mindful of policies outlined in the Seminary Academic Catalog.

Vocational Development

Your Seminary career will be enriched by set activities that address your vocational development alongside your academic preparation. Some of these are requirements while others are courses or activities you can choose to participate in. For students who anticipate future service in the Evangelical Covenant Church, these opportunities include a Call to Ministry process which will help you understand the process as well as get a head start on building relationships and preparing for a call.

Education encompasses everything from study of the Bible, theology, history, and ministry to mastery of the tools and understanding vocational and lay ministers need to be competent across cultural, economic, geographic, and gender boundaries.

North Park Theological Seminary offers 4 traditional degrees, 6 dual-degree combinations with Business and Nonprofit Management, and 8 graduate certificate programs. We interweave theology, bible, ministry, spiritual formation, and diversity courses into each degree.

Field Education is a companion to classroom work at North Park Theological Seminary, that helps develop: Practical individual preparation for ministry Interpersonal and communication skills in a ministry context.
