Julia Davids

Stephen J Hendrickson Professor of Music

Dr. Julia Davids brings her expertise in conducting, vocal performance, and music education. She directs the University Choir and Chamber Singers and teaches music education courses.

Faith is the lens through which she sees everything in music—from the repertoire through the teaching process through how we interact—faith is the organizing principle.

Davids is a soprano soloist, avid performer, and recitalist specializing in early music. She’s a proud founding member of the Canadian Chamber Choir, Canada’s national choral ensemble. As artistic director of the group since 2004, Davids led the ensemble on concert and workshop tours and directed their debut recording, “In Good Company.” Davids is currently the music director of the North Shore Choral Society. She also serves as director of music ministries at Trinity United Methodist Church in Wilmette, Illinois.

“Something I wish for my students after they graduate from North Park,” says Davids, “is that their lives will include music and singing, especially singing that serves their communities.”
