Alyssa Anderson

Associate Professor Athletic Training/Clinical Coordinator

As a North Park alumna, Alyssa Anderson made the decision to teach here for the same reasons that she decided to attend as a student. “North Park is a good fit,” she says. “It allows me to be my whole self as I work: I can incorporate my faith, sense of humor, and passion for knowledge into my teaching and care of patients. I feel incredibly privileged to be able to return to my alma mater to impact the next generation of students.”

In her role as coordinator of clinical education for athletic training, Anderson develops relationships with healthcare facilities and institutions in Chicagoland. “Our students have the opportunity to work alongside many different healthcare professionals and provide care for a variety of patients in the area,” she says.

Anderson enjoys helping her students prepare for a variety of career settings in this growing profession. She has had some unique opportunities in the field, including traveling to Kenya as the athletic trainer for an Athletes in Action women’s basketball team. Anderson also works with students who are interested in careers as physical therapists, physician’s assistants, or physicians.
