Emily Dykema
Lecturer
Emily Dykema is an alumna of North Park University. She received her Bachelor of Music Education in 2012 and has been teaching instrumental music in the Chicagoland area for the past 10 years. She also received a Master of Music Education from VanderCook College of Music and has been an active member of the Illinois Grade School Music Association and Illinois Music Educators Association.
Currently she teaches band and jazz band at Alan B. Shepard Middle Schoo. Past teaching experience includes assistant marching band director at Maine West High School and beginning band teacher in Deerfield, Illinois.
As an accomplished clarinetist and saxophonist, Dykema has performed with various concert bands, woodwind quintets, jazz ensembles, and community bands. She has taught the Woodwind Methods course at North Park University since spring 2022.
