Dr. Janice Zeller was drawn to North Park University because of the School of Nursing’s caring philosophy. “Compassion is a foundational element of all faith traditions and at North Park, students are supported in their recognition and affirmation of the dignity and inherent worth of each human being,” she says.
Zeller believes that North Park students are well-prepared to meet the challenges of an ever-changing health care system, supported by outstanding teacher-practitioners, alongside their ethnically-diverse colleagues, and within a wide variety of clinical sites.
Zeller’s professional background includes funded research, participation on national panels and research review committees, and numerous scholarly publications in nursing and other health care journals. Together, these activities support her work with graduate students, both in core master’s nursing courses and capstone projects. In the master’s scientific inquiry course, Zeller facilitates student development of proposals that could guide implementation of research, evidence-based practice, or quality improvement projects within clinical settings. She encourages and supports her students to utilize their master’s and post-master’s capstone projects in their professional careers.
